Now I can say it — we made it! As the flurry of good-bye parties and celebrations come to a close, I am reminded of all that makes Greenhouse special. We ended the year much as we spent the year — with joy, hugs, family, song, and community.

We played, wondered, explored and learned. Masks, stuffy noses, quarantines – nothing was going to stop us!

It has been my pleasure and privilege to be a part of your family’s lives this year and to watch as your children grew and their personalities unfolded day by day, experience by experience. In a recent conversation, one of the Investigator’s children told me that she was going to go to a new school soon (I think she just wanted to make sure I knew her plans!) and then she added, “but I don’t want to go.” I acknowledged that changes can be scary; we talked about things that might be the same at her new school and some things that might be different. I also let her know that Greenhouse will always be here. And her whole face lit up and she replied, “I know! My mom told me that I can come back and visit!” To those families moving on to new schools, even new cities and states – I encourage you to remember this — Greenhouse is always here! While life takes you on its journey, Greenhouse stays steady and is always waiting for your return!

A special thank you to the faculty and staff: for their tireless efforts and extra-special brand of love and learning that we have come to take for granted at Greenhouse.  They are what drives the work here and are responsible for so much of what makes us special.  I’d also like to send out a special thank you to the PA Co-Chairs—Marissa Zalk and Katie Baker. I’m deeply grateful for your help in building our community.

Time to exhale!

Much love,

Renee
